Below is a short section outlining the ethos of the club. Click on the picture to go to the UCLBC Constitution.

We are a competitive club with a racing ethos, whose aim is to qualify for Henley Royal each year. We aim to give our members a full calendar of racing in both the head and and regatta seasons.

The club is made up of novice and senior teams. We aim to help advance more experienced club members rowing. Whilst with the novices we aim to provide a solid basis to start their rowing career! The club aims to cater for all individuals no matter what background you come from.

The club is also always looking out for new coxswains. These people have a lot of responsibility, being in charge of the boat steering it, as well as motivating the rowers, and coordinating the power and rhythm of the rowers. Whether experienced or new to rowing, male or female, we would be happy to hear from you!

We row out of the University of London Boathouse three times a week, on a Wednesday afternoon and both days of the weekend. The club undertakes land training the rest of the week using the university gym (currently four sessions a week). An annual Easter training camp (which lasts a week) is also undertaken for all members who wish to race in the summer. It is crucial that members attend this if they want to develop their rowing. Ultimately the spirit of the club desires athletes to work towards the attainment of their full potential in their sport and their studies.

The club is a great way to meet like minded people and make new friends! We have a vibrant social scene with the Women's Boat Club. Members can be found attending the weekly Sport's Nights at UCL Union following Wednesday afternoon training, which is followed by going to The Roxy nightclub just off Oxford Street. We also have two black tie dinners at Christmas and Summer. Watch this space for new events that are currently in the pipeline for this year!

Whether new to rowing or someone who wants to improve themselves and build on past experience, join us to compete for your university, meet new friends and fullfill your potential in an exciting sport. Which other club would take you to Chiswick every weekend?
