You'll be thinking about exams at the moment, and possibly some last coursework deadlines. And you'll be thinking that most of the clubs and societies will be calling off activities for the year. You're partly right, but there's still some fun to be had.
Firstly, good luck with your exams (especially if they're all crammed together).
Secondly, whilst a lot of regular club and society activity is over, there are still those few weeks after your exams finish and before term ends when you can relax, hang around in the sun and generally enjoy yourself. There will be lots of bits and pieces to do in that last week or two, and here are some choice ones to keep your eyes out for:
THE QUAD PLAY
The Drama Societies annual summer treading of the... err... concrete. This year, they're doing Much Ado About Nothing (by Will Shakespeare, of course). The cast have been selected, who knows, they might even have started rehearsals. If you want some cheap entertainment and culture in what can only be described as an epic setting, then make sure you come along. It'll be the last week of term. 7th, 8th and 9th of June.
THE ARTS FESTIVAL
Another arty bit of fun - UCLU's Arts societies getting together to give you a (hopefully) lovely day in the sun. There'll be all sorts of entertainment, so why not get hold of an ice cream or two, perhaps some home made lemonade, and stretch out and enjoy the show. Again, last week of term, keep an eye out!
SOCIAL COLOURS
UCL Union's Annual Awards ceremony for those who have given a lot of blood, time, effort, commitment, sweat and tears to the UCL student community. The Roll of Honour will be appearing soon, and tickets are always scarce. If you think you might have been awarded something, then keep your eyes peeled, and await your invitation with bated breath.
The Society of the Year and Arts Awards are also announced at this evening of fun.
And finally, if you're going to be a president or treasurer next year, then I look forward to seeing you at a briefing session towards the end of the term. You'll know when you signed up for, and there'll be all sorts of useful information to be had.
Hope everyone had a good Easter, and good luck again with all your exams!
