Kendo
Kendo is the way of the sword, Japanese fencing. It is derived from
techniques developed by the samurai, handed down and refined over
hundreds of years. UCLU Kendo Club’s aim is to train in Kendo and put UCL on the map in the University Championships.
In Kendo, bamboo practice swords are used to strike at various target
areas that are protected by padded armour. Kendo is a dynamic (yet
graceful), full-contact martial art and it has been said that a Kendo
match is one of the most intense situations one could ever experience.
Kendo can be practiced by men and women of all ages. Come and see us at our stall and demonstration at freshers fayre.
