Applications for New Clubs and Societies to be affiliated have been reopened
If you have a great idea for a new club or society, then you can apply for it to be affiliated to UCL Union. Affiliation to the Union provides a lot of great benefits, including:
- - Funding and accounting services
- Publicity and promotion services
- Access to rooms and facilities
- Support and advice from others
However, because we have limited resources not all applications are successful. We have a list of criteria which your application would have to meet if your proposed club or society was to be affiliated to the Union.
How do I request affiliation to UCL Union?
1. Download and read the NOTES FOR APPLICANTS. This will explain the criteria and the procedure you should follow.
2. Download and complete the Application Form in the appropriate manner (explained on the top of the form) and then hand it in to the Sabbatical Suite, 4th Floor, UCL Union, 25 Gordon Street.
3. Your application will then be seen by two separate boards:
- Firstly, the application will be assessed by one of Arts, Sports or Societies Boards. You will not need to attend these meetings. These boards make a recommendation to the next board.
- Secondly, the final decision will be made by Activities Board. You will be required to attend this board meeting to answer questions and make a short oral presentation. You will be notified in advance of the date of the meeting.
Please Note: Affiliation applications are only considered at Activities Board twice a year.
In Term 1 on 25 November and in Term 2 on 21 February.
Applications should be submitted before 31 October to be in time for the Term 1 meeting or 21 February for the Term 2 meeting.
