Despite disappointing results in the individuals (Valerian losing many points thanks to the referee not understanding the concept of breaking time), we recovered our drive on the second day and blazed to a second place podium position in the team event.

Le Duel is one of the "Coupe du Nord" series of Sabre event, hosted in Örebro, Sweden each year. The tournament is around the skill level of a "B Grade" FIE invitational. This series attracts many high-level fencers from all over Europe, with German, Icelandic and Dutch fencers among this year's number. It is a prestigious tournament in which we were representing Great Britain, the only UCL club to do so this year.

It was a well-run and extremely enjoyable tournament, and we hope to send a sabre squad again next year.
