The Access to Learning Fund is available to help students who encounter financial difficulties during their course. It can cover any living expenses
but cannot be used to go towards tuition fee payments. If you think you are
going to run out of money or find it difficult to manage on the funding you
receive you should apply. The following are eligible to apply:
- all UK full-time students
- part-time students taking a minimum of 1.5 course units or 60 credits (or
equivalent)
- EU students who have resided in the UK for three years before the
beginning of the course
International students are not eligible.
If your income is less than your expenditure it is worth making an
application.
While the fund welcomes applications throughout the year, it is not an
unlimited resource. If you want more money it is better to apply sooner
rather than later.
