Campaigns Newsletter: Go Green edition!

Dear all,

Before I fill you in on this week's campaign, Go Green Week, first a quick request from us at the Union:

Dear Campaigner,

UCLU is running a series of focus groups looking at a number of aspects of the services we provide, the activities we offer and the way we represent you while you're a student here at UCL. You don't need to have any prior experience or any particular knowledge. In return for an hour of your time in an informal group discussion, we'll compensate you with £20 cash. Please complete the form here to apply.

NOTE: we are specifically looking for Campaigning Activists to join the group on Wednesday 3rd Feb from 15:45-17:00, if you are interested please apply for this group.

Welcome to UCL Go Green Week 2010!!

We've teamed up with a few other societies to promote ways to mend, eat and shop that will help us all consume less and more efficiently. 1st world consumption is the primary problem in regard to environmental degredation - and we're not just talking carbon emissions but the wider effects of deforestation for agrofuels, bitumen and meat production. We've got a week of workshops, discussions, talks, film, music, poetry, food and workshops to get your brain tingling and direct action-boots on.

Events during the week:

We've got a stall on the ground floor of the UCL Union everyday, come and say hello and pick up some info and freebees.

Monday- 7-9pm

UCL Modo workshop - get creative and learn how to repair, refashion and recycle your old clothes. In the Conference Room (2nd floor Bloomsbury building)

Tuesday- 6-7.30pm
