Academic Affairs Officer

Spring Elections 2008

Matthew Richards

Matthew RICHARDS

As your Academic Affairs Officer I pledge to put education first, for I strongly believe that study plays a fundamental role in student development; I believe that the Student Union should facilitate this growth. I shall endeavour to listen to student opinions, absorbing and disseminating them and acting upon them wherever possible, relaying them to the College in particular. UCL Union has, I believe, a lot more to offer to students regarding academic support and working more closely with the College to create a supportive and encouraging environment within which to study.

Manifesto

Adam BOUZELMATE

Having already spent considerable amount of time as Academic Affairs Officer, I feel I have the skills and knowledge to successfully campaign against: the plan by UCL and the Russell Group to increase student fees in 2009. I will also continue to work to ensure that as paying consumers we receive the best value for money, including provision of IT services and Open Study Spaces around College. I will continue to campaign against the use of International students as Piggy Banks. Finally, I will present a plan of action for the reforming of UCLU.
