Don't miss your chance to make a difference!
There are a number of reasons why standing for election is a good idea, including:
1. It looks fantastic on your CV for starters, as employers sit up and take notice when you mention the words Student Representative. This will make an impression, no matter what position you held.
2. You get to be an individual. Rather than leave UCL after your course has ended with a piece of paper, you will already have got yourself a job, and you will be in charge of making sure UCL is improved for all other students. You will have become more than just a student number – you will not belong to the 'roll in, roll out' system of students at UCL.
3. You get to make a difference for everybody else – it is you who will have input on how UCL will look in years to come, it is your name that will go on documents shaping the future, it is you who will be able to stand up and say, 'I did this' at a time when most of your friends will still be temping.
4. Because, most of all, the Union is run by students – and this means YOU.
