Why should you vote? What do the people you vote for do for you?

Take a look here at what the Officers at UCL Union do for you.

One

Who do I see if I'm having difficulties at UCL?

The Welfare Officer represents your concerns to College and is in charge of the welfare of all UCL students. If you have a problem with Halls or feel unsafe while studying at UCL, they'll help you.

Three

I want to do more than just study. Who can help me?

The Student Activities Officer makes sure there is opportunity for you to get involved with something outside your studies: clubs, societies, volunteering and career development sessions. If you want to start a new club or society then they can help you too.

Six

I want to know where my money goes!

Do you want to know how the Union is run? What happens to the money you spend on a sandwich in the shop? The Finance & Democracy Officer organises the £1.8 million College grant and oversees the running of the Union.

Five

I want to get involved with student events and media

The Communications & Services Officer can help you - overseeing the Union Bars, Cafes, Events and Media. They make sure that events appeal to a wide range of UCL students.

If you have a suggestion for an event, or want to promote your own event you can contact them. Popaganda, Retribution and Glasnost were all started as ideas from students who approached an officer, and in 2007/08 officers helped publicise over 150 different student-run events.

Seven

I've got an issue with my studies

The Education Officer is the main contact between you and UCL. If you think you've been treated unfairly, or you're unhappy with your exam timetable, they'll help you as much as they can.

Eight

I'm a medic/postgraduate. Who looks out for me?

The Medical & Postgraduate Students' Officer represents the needs of medical students, postgraduates and students who study away from the main UCL campus, like SSEES students.

Want to know when the next postgraduate party is? If there's a magazine for SSEES students? They can help you find out!
