Visit Kew Gardens
Climb to the treetops and delve into rainforest, exploring Kew Gardens; a magnificent World Heritage Site covering 300 acres with over 30,000 species of plants telling the story of the development of plant life. Explore glasshouses, landscapes and 250 years of history at the world's most famous garden. There’s loads to see at Kew Gardens including Palm House; a tropical rainforest environment inside Kew's most iconic building. Treetop Walkway; Climb 18 meters into the tree canopy for a spectacular bird's-eye view over Kew. Temerate House; the biggest public glasshouse, and home to the world's tallest indoor plant. Princess of Wales Conservatory; containing ten climatic zones and a huge variety of plants, including orchids and cacti. The National BioBlitz brings together volunteers, scientists, naturalists, wildlife enthusiasts, school groups, students and members of the public to find as many different species as possible within the a natural area – all whilst racing against the clock! The following volunteer roles are needed; Naturalists - identifying species, Guides - knowledge sharing, Stewards - engaging with attendees, Media Volunteers – managing web, Liaisons - promoting the National BioBlitz.

Trip to London Zoo
Come along to London Zoo and discover London’s only living rainforest and see free-roaming monkeys, sloths and a tree anteater. Home to over 700 animal species, many of which are endangered London Zoo gives you the chance to see the smallest monkey to the tallest giraffe including a penguin habitat, a new aviary, a new komodo dragon house and an extended meerkat family. The walk-through aviary makes it possible to see exotic birds and The Meet the Monkeys attraction allows you, guided by zoo staff, to walk through an enclosure that recreates the natural habitat of black-capped Bolivian squirrel monkeys. The Outback exhibit features wallabies and emus and illustrates how animals survive in conditions of harsh heat. A perfect day out in the heart of London.
