This year the Society small bands will be managed by James Gill who you can contact here.  I say small bands, because unlike in previous years where we’ve typically had one traditional small jazz band this year we are hoping to encourage the growth of multiple bands focusing on different styles – to give our potential clients a wider selection! As these bands form you will able to keep track of their gigs and repertoires on this page.

For those interested in playing, the bands will have rehearsals as often as can be arranged – and will rotate as the house band for Jazz Jammin' when we are providing the band.

As we get requests for gigs they will be allocated to bands by James based on what has been requested or what would be most suitable for the occasion.

Bands currently available/under development include:

Traditional Jazz Bands - non-vocal - we can provide anything from duets up to 5/6/7 piece bands to play traditional jazz/funk

Traditional Jazz Bands - vocal - we can provide small groups (duets/trios) to serenade you with some traditional Jazz standards. 

Bloomsbury Blues Brothers - vocal - 8 piece band fronted by our very own Jake and Elwood Blues - able to play all of the classic Blues Brothers hits

Blues Band - vocal - a 6/7 piece Blues Band playing everything from BB King, to Katie Melua, to Tom Jones - under development 

Funk Band - vocal - a larger band, aiming to play James Brown style funk and other such music - under development

Soul Band - vocal - under development
