So it's the new year, and you've got essay deadlines hanging over you. But do not fear! Here at UCLU Masaryk Society, we've got several events coming up to keep you in the mix with all things East European!
Fancy a night out this Thursday? Come down to Cargo, near London's Old Street to hear the very best in folk-rock music from the region. You can get tickets online at www.cargo-london.com. We'll be meeting at 8pm by Cargo so if you fancy coming along, let us know at the old email address.
Also, UCL Union's first ever "One World Week" is taking place from 4th - 8th February, with a whole range of events. Never to be shy from taking part in all things cultural, Masaryk will be at the OW Fayre on Wednesday in the Cloisters, so come by and say hello!
We are also holding our panel discussion on "The Prague Spring, 40 years on" on 6th Feb. at 7pm onwards in the JBR, UCL. Be sure not to miss our range of academics talking about this fascinating period, to be chaired by the current Czech Ambassador!
We've also got our AGM coming up towards the end of February-fancy running the society next year? With a whole range of positions, you can do publicity, organise socials or be the President. For more information, get in touch with us at masaryk.society@gmail.com to find out how the positions work.
Also, don't forget to come and celebrate those post-Reading week blues with some chilled vodka and music at UCL Union's "Glasnost' bez milosci" on 18th February. There'll be the usual DJ tunes and live music.
