After our Annual General Meeting was held on 29th February 2008, the society voted in it's new committee for the coming academic year. Here are the officers who are running the UCLU Masaryk Society this  year...

                                                      President:
                               Nicki Challinger (Romanian and German)
                                            
Nicki was vice-president  for the society back in 06/07 and is returning from her year abroad in the Eastern Bloc make this year just as successful! Nicki is a resourceful and organised student, and no doubt will keep the rest of the committee on track. I'm sure she'll keep herself going by enjoying copious amounts of  tuica throughout all those German literature lectures...

                                                     Treasurer:
                                                 Dave Edwards
                                (Politics with East European Studies)
                                             
Dave is another member of the Church of Elvis, top goal scorer for SSEES AFC during the last 3 years and the Masaryk money man for the second year running.
There's no doubt you'll see Dave this year as he is also Treasurer for SSEES AFC and holds down just about every job in the Union

                                           Events Co-ordinator:
                                                  Mike Tate

Mike has been at SSEES longer than most lecturers can remember. Reknowned for his love of chest wigs and platform shoes, Mike is the lead singer of SSEES' very own band, The Church of Elvis, having performed at several Glasnost's this year at the Union. He promises not to sing his Czech love poetry to you, as long as you turn up to all our great events and get involved!

Due to the ever-growing nature of the events we put on and the activites we run, we're looking for a Vice-President who will not only be able to help Nick with her duties, but take Masaryk to the next level and. We need someone who relishes a challenge, full of enthusiasm and wants to take on this important but flexible role. Let us know if you think you can step up to the role...

Social Secretary: VACANT
Do you like having fun and organising parties? Then this role is for you! We're looking for someone to organise the social side of Masaryk for this coming year, whether it be trips to bars, restuarants with a Central/East European theme or just a night at the Union for all the society members...if you're interested get in touch with us at the usual email or on our facebook page...

Publicity Officer: VACANT
Fancy doing a better job of updating the website than it is currently? A dab hand at producing awesome posters and writing witty emails to our mailing list of fans? We're looking for someone with great communication skills to get the Masaryk message out to the whole of UCL and beyond so if you fancy it, give us a shout...

Committee Members (2 places): VACANT
We've not got any committee members at the moment :( The role of the Committee member is smaller than that of the other roles but just as important to help run the society, give ideas for activities and promote the society throughout SSEES and UCL to all students, whether they be postgrads, undergrad or even the odd lecturer! If you fancy getting involved but didn't want a massive responsibility then run for one of these positions at our EGM. Details announced soon....
