WELCOME!
With shows such as “Guys and Dolls,” “Crazy for You,” “Jekyll and Hyde,” “Cabaret,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” firmly under our belts, the UCLU Musical Theatre Society is one of the most vibrant, enthusiastic and fast-growing societies at UCL.
All our productions are organised, directed and performed by UCL students. We consistently put on outstanding quality performances, incorporating the singing, acting and dancing skills of the best people who attend our open auditions.
We divide our theatre time between the UCL Bloomsbury Theatre, UCL’s own 535 seat West End Theatre and the UCLU Garage Theatre Workshop. Asides from productions the society is involved in a great deal of union-wide events such as Arts Festival and Christmas in the Quad. This year we’ve also partaken in lots of society events such as a 1930’s themed bar crawl, Carol singing in a Hampstead retirement home and marked the end of term with a trip to Kew Gardens open air ice rink for Christmas skating! Due to our huge success with Jesus Christ Superstar we able to continue this work and hopefully expand our enterprises into the new year. Keep your eye out for some subsidised musical trips, two Garage Theatre Workshop productions and hopefully a charity gala….
