An exciting new campaign for the Autumn term 2009! We are raising awareness of the Summit and its importance, with the aim of increasing pressure on world leaders to forge an effective and fair climate deal in Copenhagen this December.

The Copenhagen Climate Change Summit, beginning on December 6th of this year, is the international community's attempt to create a "Kyoto-II": a new agreement to control global carbon emissions. Labeled by some as the most important summit in the history of humanity to date, a strong agreement is necessary to curb emissions quickly enough and sufficiently to avert the worst ravages of climate change. It is also important that the deal be fair, not forcing poorer countries to sacrifice their opportunity to develop a decent standard of living for their people. (For more info click here)

The main campaign week is from the 23rd to the 27th of November (thank you to all of you who voted for our bid!) We are busy planning to make this a great week, to include debates, an exhibition, stalls, workshop, film screening and more...
