UCL postgraduates are busy with their academic and professional lives. But, the PGA has made it easy for you to get involved, whether you are here for a one year Masters or are completing a PhD part-time.

    • Become a Member of the PGA Executive: If you would like to be a representative on the PGA, you must run in the October elections.

• Attend PGA Welcome and Annual General Meetings: PGA General meetings happen twice in the Academic year and is your chance to submit a motion, participate in a debate, or simply find out what your elected officers have been up to. There are over 8,000 postgraduates at UCL. Don't let 8 decide the issues.

  • • Join a Union Club or a Society: UCL Union supports around 170 Clubs and Societies that allow students to indulge their passions, try new things and make great friends. Like the Union itself, each Club or Society is run for the benefit of their members run by the students themselves. We offer experiences ranging from Football to Francophonia, Chess to Chocolate Society, Slasa to Sign Language, and everything in between!

• Join an academic UCL Graduate Society: These are not affiliated to UCL Union, and are for postgraduate students only.

• Vote in UCLU elections: Elected officers make very important decisions about the Union which affect all students, including postgraduates. Your vote will give you the opportunity to elect someone to take forward issues that matter to you. Do you think the union could do more for postgraduates? Are you an international student who thinks that the Union could better serve you? Be heard and elect the candidates that you feel can confidently take on important issues.

• Become a Student Academic Representative (StAR) for your course: StARs sit on various committees at a course, faculty and University level, at which they act as the voice of students, ensuring that UCL takes into account the needs of students in its decision making processes.

• Launch your own campaign or support an existing Union campaign. Alternatively, you can get in touch with the PGA to encourage them to campaign on behalf of postgraduates. If you have an issue that you would like to take up, please send an email.

• Attend PGA Events: the social provision for UCL postgraduates is continually expanding. Each year the PGA hosts a number of events, from a summer boat party, to wine tastings, family picnics and theatre trips. Check the event calendar for information.
