Where's Your Head At?

It’s nearly the end of term, and pressure is increasing as everyone gets closer to the exams. Because of this, we at UCLU have decided everybody needs a few ways to help de-stress. There will be a chill-out zone with bean bags and magazines in front of Gordon’s all week, where you can also get a free massage every day next week (15-19 March) from 12-2pm. As well as this, there are a whole range of activities for you to do during the week.

Have a great week, and relax!
Nicki, UCLU Welfare Officer

Message from Liberty

Dear friend,

Happy belated Valentine’s Day from Liberty. We want to share something we love with you:

Life, liberty, free speech, personal privacy, fair trials, no torture, no discrimination… What’s not to love?

The Human Rights Act protects all of these rights, and it protects them for everyone – young and old, rich and poor. It means that you can defend your rights in the UK courts and that public organisations (including the Government, the Police and local councils) must treat everyone equally, with fairness, dignity and respect. Visit our new webpage www.love.commonvalues.org.uk to find out all there is to love about the Human Rights Act.

Polling shows that 96% of people believe it is important that there is a law protecting rights and freedoms in Britain and yet the Human Rights Act is still surrounded by many myths and misconceptions. Read our myth-buster for the real facts

Visit www.love.commonvalues.org.uk to find out more about the Human Rights Act. After all, what’s not to love?
