You'll doubtless be bombarded with information from every corner over the next few weeks, and as the sabbatical team and I are looking forward to meeting all of you in person at some point, I'll keep this encounter brief.
Tickets for all the Freshers' Week events (with the exception of Beach Party and Ministry of Comedy) are still available but going quick quick quick. Have a look at the calendar (the big red buttom at the top of your screen) and then come on down to the ticket stand in the reception of the Union building (25 Gordon Street). If you're an arriving Fresher and you've sent a form in requesting tickets, they will be waiting between 10am and 4pm at the reception (25 Gordon Street again) for you to collect... Bring your ID/debit card!
And for Freshers and Returners alike, make sure you come on down the Union building as soon as you get a chance... We've given the old place a wipe down with a damp flannel and it's looking better than ever. Come for a swift half in the super-funky redecorated Phineas (3rd floor), now a haven of urbane chic and sophisticated nitelife, rather than a smokey tarpit... Get your lunch from the new menu (steaming into the 21st century with panini, smoothies and all kinds of snacky delights) in Gordons (ground floor)... While those long Autumn nights away with one of our top-notch Union events (check that Calendar up above again for details)... And new for this year, check your e-mails as you sprint through with our freshly-installed Quick Login Stations, where you can login for 10 minutes and do whatever needs doing (on the ground, 2nd and 3rd floors).
