Also of relevance is the motion (below) passed at Union council (4th December).
Although the standing orders do state that when a sabbatical officer resigns, an election for a part-time replacement should take place within four weeks, council has decided that for a number of reasons (the lack of interest in previous part-time sabb positions, the danger of undermining the February General Elections and, most importantly, the importance of picking up the vacant responsibilities as soon as possible) it would be better for the Union if the positions were not re-run.
