So this is it. All those tough lessons and exams at school are now finally over…and you have arrived at medical school – for plenty more! But don’t despair, your journey through medical school will be the most fun and rewarding of your lifetime and it all starts at Freshers Week.
Freshers Week at RUMS is where you get to know your fellow students, party hard and get bombarded with freebies. RUMS sport clubs and societies will be present at the Fayre. These clubs and societies have a well deserved reputation as being some of the most active, successful and inclusive at UCL Union and they offer an unrivalled opportunity to make new friends and pursue your extra-curricular interests. If you do not find a sport or society that caters for your interests, there are plenty more at UCL Union – but remember, the RUMS ones are better ; )
Whilst I’d recommend you party hard these coming weeks, I’d also encourage you to get involved in the RUMS community. Not just with those RUMS clubs and societies, but in the RUMS Executive, which is there to represent the views of RUMS students and organise events and parties throughout the year. Elections are now open for different positions. Getting involved is really rewarding - oh and it looks great on your portfolio!
Should you encounter any issues, want to get involved, have any ideas for RUMS related stuff or just fancy a chat, you can either contact the RUMS Executive or myself directly (all details on www.rums.uclu.org).
Welcome once again and see you at RUMS Freshers Week!
