Perhaps it’s the Slavic blood that pumps through your veins. Perhaps it was an academic interest in the most fascinating, cultured and dynamic region of the World. Perhaps you simply think Eastern Europe is cool. Whatever the reason, you have chosen to study at SSEES, a world class School at a world class university. While being part of UCL is great, we at SSEES believe that studying at our School is a unique experience…
That is why we have lined up for you a whole string of events to welcome you into the SSEES community! Check them out at our website (www.uclunion.org/ssees) and our Facebook group (http://uclac.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2427508023).
Want to immerse yourself further in Eastern European culture? The Masaryk Society organises talks, parties and foreign trips. Fancy playing football for SSEES? SSEES Football Club is always open to the next Shevchenko. Join these clubs and societies and many more at Freshers Fayre.
Want to get involved in the SSEES community? Elections are now open for posts on the SSEES Site Committee. The Committee is here to organise events and represent your views to the School. I am your full time sabbatical officer, where I perform the same role at UCL Union. If you want to get involved or have any issues, please contact us (contact details on our website and facebook group).
I hope you will enjoy your time at SSEES and I look forward to seeing you at Freshers Week and at our flagship East European night at the Union,
“Glasnost’ ” on Monday, 15th October!
Peace out
