As ever, the UCL Union calendar is as well stuffed as the pockets of a kleptomaniac Christmas elf.
On Friday, dress up in your best Armani Suit and grab the biggest, unwieldiest mobile phone you can because it's Bar FTSE time! Fluctuating prices, mass rushes when gin attains its nadir of 30p, it's all literally exactly the same as the stock exchange. Only better.
And by the time you're well again, it's Double Vision on Saturday night. There's karaoke and £1.50 drinks. Do you need more?

Big thanks to everyone who came on the 13th, lots of high fives were thrown and much dancing was had. Extra shout out to Captain Kidd who managed to fill in for Neon Plastix on such a short notice, we hope you enjoyed them and got involved with the handclaps.

...(meaning rearing stallions in Hungarian) a London based Japano-Hungarian trio combining mashed-up guitar riffage with manic electronic beats and screeching vocals. Tambourine action included.
THOUSAND NATURAL SHOCKS
...a 4 piece new wave indie-punk band from Exeter by way of London. Practicing in a converted barn and busting out wired beats, yelping vocal howls, crashing guitar chords and big choruses.
MONO TAXI
...delicately cool French darlings mashing up the best bits of Velvet Underground, My Bloody Valentine and Pixies into an exceptional slab of Euro-indie. Ballsy, angular, stutter-punk through poignant melody via tumultuous power chord thrash.
Plus DJS sets from resident RARE FM Djs and Adam and Chris, Ed System topping off the night with awesome tracks to dance / sing / kiss / play / puke to.

World AIDS Day is on Saturday December 1st, and to mark the occasion and draw attention to the fact that 8000 people still die every day from AIDS-related illnesses, a coalition of UCL student societies have organised a host of fantastic events throughout the week:

6. HELIX HELIX HELIX
The Triple Helix (TTH) is an international student-produced journal of science, society and law published in Ivy league Universities around the world. We are the UCL chapter and have just recently published our very first issue of the journal which is now available in various libraries, buildings and Departments around the campus. We are looking to recruit more writers, editors, marketing officers and publishing/desgin assistants.
Students are welcome from all academic disciplines and levels of experience and articles can be of any topic relating to science and its impact on society. Articles in the current issue range from robot surgeons to pillow angels!
