I know there has been a lot of rumour and speculation going around about the 'Modern Languages Review', particularly concern about what it might mean for us as students as well as the staff that teach and support us during our degrees.
The good news is that I've had a meeting this week with the Dean and the Faculty Manager in Arts & Humanities to discuss the concerns we've had and what the plans actually are. I'm very pleased that there will be consultation with students over the plans in the near future, which I'll be helping to organise.
As I understand it, the first phase of changes isn't as bad as we feared, and could well indeed acheive improvements to the student experience, particularly of inter-disciplinary PGTs.
I won't go into great detail here as they are not my plans to reveal, and that's the whole point of the consultation! If you do have any questions for me in the meantime, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me at e.officer@ucl.ac.uk, or visit me in the Sabb Suite on the 4th Floor of the Union at 25 Gordon Street.
