I regularly give blood, and wondered if UCL could be more involved?
currently i have to go to friends house to give blood and although there's nothing wrong with that it takes agers as its quite a small centre.
I figure that a lot of students would be happy to give blood if it took place in cloisters or somewhere central.
can the union help? who do i have to see to get this done?

Hi there,
Just as a comment, in my university (Granada, Spain) every 3 months there are some doctors that stay for a day in each university asking for blood donors. I first donated blood there, and since then I have tried to donate as often as possible. My point is that I see that being quite possible, and that I'd also love to have that here.
Greets!

Ello, My understanding was that in the past, the NBS have been approached about blood donation at UCL(U) - in the Quad for instance - however the response was that they felt the provision at Friends House was sufficient, and that it would be an unecessary duplication of effort. As a result (certainly last year) we just publicised the Friends House sessions on their behalf. However, that's not to say that situations don't change, and I could see them being interested in the suggestion that students would be more inclined, and the sessions more visible, if they were conducted centrally. I would suggest contacting either Andy Fernando (Education & Welfare) or Julia Sukan del Rio (Campaigns & Equal Opportunities) by clicking the Union Officers button above. Alternatively, it may be a cause that one of the Union's societies are well-qualified to tackle.
