Good Afternoon!
Here is your weekly dose of volunteering opportunities coming straight to you from Central London. Once again, I have numerous new and exciting volunteering opportunities to offer you all this week, from case worker and administrative roles, to learning valuable project management skills and even getting up close and personal by volunteering on a day to help clean up the River Thames.
If you’re still not sure how you would like to get involved in volunteering having read this week’s newsletter, why not come along to one of our drop-in sessions? These sessions run three times a week:
Mondays & Tuesdays, 10am-1pm, Bloomsbury Room 204
Fridays, 1-4pm, Foster Court Room 217
There’s no commitment, just turn up in the right place within the time-period and one of my colleagues will be on-hand to help you give you all the information and advice you need to get into volunteering this term.
If you would like further information about anything in this week’s newsletter, have a query or simply want to find out more about volunteering, do feel free to get in touch.
Kind Regards,

Hello Volunteers!
I can’t quite believe it’s February already – soon spring will be upon us, so what better way to brighten yourself up than to get involved in some volunteering!? Yet again, I’ve been contacted by a number of our partner organisations over the past week requesting adverts to be put in the newsletter. Numerous programmes and roles from across the city pack out this week’s edition.
To find out more about the roles on offer have a read through, see if anything in particular catches your eye and just get in touch.
I hope you all have a great week.

UCLU Volunteering News: January 26th – February 1st
Dear All,
Hope you’re well. I’ve got loads of new volunteering roles on offer this week! The roles stretch from one-off fundraisers to full-time internships. Alongside this cornucopia of volunteering roles from our partner organisations, we also have a number of internal projects and events advertised, so do have a read through.
Our one-off roles this week include fundraising with Oxfam to help Haiti, getting immersed in nature conservation for the day with the London Borough of Camden, baking cakes for Great Ormond Street and even fundraising at Russell Square tube this coming Sunday to raise money for an under-resourced Romanian hospital.
There has also been a real flurry of longer-term volunteering opportunities coming through over the past week, most notably roles with: Tolerance International, Oxfam, Camden Libraries, HISTORYtalk, Social Vision and Changing Faces.
To find out more about any of these exciting new opportunities and many more, just have a look through this week’s bulletin and drop me a line to find out more.
Kind Regards,
Oliver Peachey

Dear All,
I can’t believe it’s the second week back already – at least the snow’s gone. Although in some ways I think I miss it – at least it’s better than all this grey… Well – to boost our spirits and bring colour to London, here’s this weeks updated newsletter!
First of all, I’d like to thank so many of you for attending our fair last Thursday. For those of you who missed out, don’t worry, I’ll be uploading the catalogue onto this blog over the next few days so you can check out the organisations that really want to hear from you regarding their huge range of volunteering opportunities.
Everyone really has got truly back into the swing of things after the post-Christmas lull! A whole myriad of organisations have been in touch to promote their roles this week – just scroll down and check them out. We’ve got a number of opportunities on offer and the Union have also started booking for their Spring training sessions. The programme looks excellent so do have a look and see what’s on offer this term. If anything catches your eye in this week’s newsletter, please just get in touch to find out more and make the most of your 2010!

UCLU Volunteering News: January 13th – January 18th
Dear All,
Happy New Year!!! It’s amazing how quickly 2010 has come around – to kick-start the new decade the VSU have a real multitude of volunteering opportunities to offer you. From our growing list of one-off volunteering roles with various organisations across the Capital to our longer-term volunteering roles and internships with major charities we really do have a lot to offer you this term.
For those of you who are unsure of how you would like to get involved in volunteering this term, we’re running our tri-weekly drop-in sessions to help you out: Mondays, Tuesdays 10-1 (Room 204, UCL Bloomsbury) and Fridays 1-4 (Room 217, Foster Court); so please do come along during these times to have a chat with one of my colleagues to find some definite opportunities to suit you.
Come to our VOLUNTEERING FAIR TOMORROW! As part of the wider UCL Union Refreshers Fayre, we’re taking over the South Cloisters from 12-3 with over 40 of our partner organisations in-attendance. This is your chance to find out face-to-face with representatives from numerous London and Global charities about how you can volunteer this term. We’ll all be on-hand throughout the event as well, so do pop down and have a meander through the South Cloisters tomorrow afternoon. It really will give you a real sense of what it means to be a volunteer in one of the most exciting and diverse cities in the world today.
