Hi

This week, we’ve got training in running school sports activity sessions, a tree planting event, a film festival organised by the students on our Refugee Project, and a poster competition .. plus a couple of opportunities from Toynbee Hall, a community centre in East London. We also see the launch of two new student run projects - the Deaf Awareness Project, and the UCL Union Conservation Group.

Remember, if you don’t see anything that takes your fancy in this week’s newsletter, you can always come and talk to one of our advisors about volunteering, email volunteering@ucl.ac.uk to make an appointment.

Also, Volunteering Society meet every Wednesday lunchtime 1 – 2 pm in the CSC Meeting room on the second floor of the Bloomsbury, so if you’d like to meet other student volunteers, come along. Next week, there will be a talk on volunteering in Africa.

All the best

Hi

Here are this week’s vacancies. We’ve a couple of one-off events; for example, this Friday you’ve got a choice of putting on some wellies and helping us out with a clean up of the Thames, or you can help the Royal National Institute of the Blind raise money. On Sunday, youth charity GetConnected are looking for help with a mailing. Later on in the month, Shelter are looking for help with some campaigning on housing issue, and RNIB are out collecting again. Then in December, we’re looking for help with the UCL Union Charity Concert in the Quad.

We’ve also got a selection of ongoing opportunities, including marketing coordinator for Artsline, befriending volunteers at St. Pancras refugee centre, and an advert from the Special constables scheme.

Hi

We’ve a load of new volunteer vacancies in this week’s issue, including a big one-off volunteering event we’ve organised for club and society members next Friday (10th November). We’re also looking for volunteers to work with children with learning disabilities, at a new arts venue, on an English-teaching project, with an arts project with people with mental health problems, and an audio project with young people in the East End. Plus there are a couple of office-based vacancies, and an advert from the metropolitan police volunteering programme. Pretty much something for everyone!

If you’d like to read about volunteers’ experiences from last year, visit http://www.uclunion.org/volunteers/why-volunteer.php . We’re also on the lookout for new students to profile – so let us know if you’d like to tell your volunteering story on our webpages.

All the best
