VOLUNTEER GENERALIST DEBT ADVISERS
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Toynbee Hall to volunteer with Capitalise-Londons Debt Advice Partnership which aims to tackle Londoners in debt crisis through a free face-to-face debt advice programme.

As a Volunteer Generalist Debt adviser you will provide a high quality face-to-face service by buddying with existing advisers. You will have a keen interest and understanding of resolving clients problems, have an understanding of money and debt advice, and be willing to travel to reach those most in need of help (travel costs reimbursed).

You must be able to go through structured formal and ongoing training in order to reach the required standard to provide a quality debt advice service. You will need to be available for an average of six daytime hours a week. Closing date Friday 16th February.

ONE OFF FUNDRAISING EVENT AT HARRODS FOR JEANS FOR GENES
Harrods is allowing its staff to wear jeans for the first time in the store’s history on Thursday 22nd February in aid of Jeans for Genes. The charity raises money for research into inherited conditions which affect children as well as support services for their families.

They need your help in collecting staff donations and those of the customers. There are shifts throughout the day that you can choose from and lunch will be provided if you’re on duty during that period. Jeans for Genes staff will be working alongside you, you’ll be fully briefed about the charity and given all the equipment you need. VOLUNTEERS FOR KIDS’ CREATIVE WORKSHOPS
Kids Company supports children with emotional and behavioural difficulties in 30 schools across London through therapy and art workshops. We are currently looking for artists working in all areas of the arts to run workshops. The artists are free to develop their own ideas.

Volunteers would help with planning and running or helping to run workshops for small groups within a school setting. A good understanding of your area of the arts and an interest in the wellbeing of neglected children is important. You don’t have to have experience in running workshops, and training will be given.

FC UNITY
FC Unity is looking for a group of young and dynamic students to work as volunteers in the England programme of the project, based in London. They will be able to help manage and run the events as well as become stake-holders.

With ongoing conflicts around the world, threatening more religious, racial and ethnic divides, FC Unity aims to transcend ethnic, religious, cultural and political differences. Using the uniting force of The Beautiful Game it will promote peaceful and united communities around the world and aim to bring people together.

FC Unity is a unique global awareness raising and development program. It brings together young people from various religious, ethnic and social backgrounds through football to overcome their differences and
learn to work as teams and create youth leaders.

FITZROVIA YOUTH IN ACTION – FOOTBALL VOLUNTEERS
FYiA is an award winning youth charity based on Warren Street. The aim of our intervention and prevention programme is to provide football activities to young people aged 8-24yrs and involve participation in a range of community programmes that will aim to reduce anti-social behaviour and promote citizenship. We’re currently looking for volunteers to help organise football sessions, manage teams tournaments etc.

We need volunteers on Monday Tuesday or Thursday evenings or Saturdays

SERVICE USER GROUP (SUG) SANE
This exciting new project aims to involve people who benefit from the services SANE provides in the development of the charity, with particular focus on SANELINE. SUG will comprise of up to 10 adult (18 years onwards) service users who have been affected by mental health problems, either themselves, or through someone they know, such as a close friend or relative. The term ‘service user’ is to reflect their past, current and future or potential use of SANELINE.

We are currently looking for members who have experience and knowledge of using mental health services, either directly or indirectly, enabling them to contribute more in the overall decision-making and development of SANE/SANELINE.

Meetings will be held quarterly, in East London. Membership is free and members will work in a voluntary capacity, but SANE will fully reimburse travel expenses for travel within London travel zones 1-6.

KCB AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK CLUB
Kings Cross & Brunswick (KCB) Chadswell Healthy Living Centre is a dynamic and vibrant community organisation working with local residents to build a strong community in the King’s Cross and old Brunswick wards of the London Borough of Camden. KCB has three community centres, a multi-disciplinary staff team working with children, young people, older people, and minority ethnic communities and has an excellent track record of community development work.


We’re currently looking for volunteers to help with our community based after-school homework club. Volunteers will help 5-16 year olds with specific areas of national curriculum on a one to one basis and act as a mentor to some of the children, who come from ethnic minority communities where academic achievement is low.

Days and times of homework club: Tuesday 4.30pm – 6.30pm and Wednesday 5pm-7pm.

HELP RAISE MONEY FOR ROYAL NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF THE BLIND
If you have a few hours to spare maybe you would like to help raise funds for blind and partially sighted people and take part in a bucket collection with the Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB)? RNIB is the UK's leading charity offering information, support and advice to over two million people with sight problems. Collections take place throughout the year in central London and the next date is Friday 23rd February at Waterloo Station and Friday 27th

VOLUNTEER RUNNERS NEEDED TO TAKE PART IN THE BRITISH 10K LONDON RUN 2007.
DATE: 1st July 2007, Sunday
ORGANISATION: Okpebholo Foundation (OK Foundation)
We need volunteers to participate in the British 10K London Run, which the third most significant mass participation road race in the UK. It provides you with the opportunity to run through the heart of central London passing many of the capital world famous landmarks including: St Paul's Cathedral, Tate Modern, Millennium Bridge, Somerset House, London Eye, Big Ben, Palace of Westminster, Westminster Bridge, Parliament Square, Westminster Abbey, Banqueting House, Royal Horse Guards,The Cenotaph and Downing Street.

Get fit and help to make a different by doing something for charity. Your participation will help us to raise money to build the ‘Africa Children Hospital and Child Health Institute’ for the welfare of the less privileged people living in rural areas in Africa. VOLUNTEER AT ONE LIFE LIVE AT OLYMIPIA EXHIBITION CENTRE
Tuk Tuk is a new not-for-profit social enterprise; we’re looking for volunteers to assist us with running a stand at One Life Live and conducting a questionnaire with the general public.

We are a new enterprise providing providing volunteering opportunities in community projects in Sri Lanka. Because we are new we want to learn form those that have been or are thinking about going on similar trips. We have developed a questionnaire to enable us to capture some of this information form those attending One Life Live.
