EASTER REVISION SESSIONS AT ST. CLEMENTS & ST. JAMES
St. Clements and St. James Community Development Project is a successful after school club and mentoring project in West london (nearest tube: Latimer Road). Our Easter revision sessions are extremely popular (last year we had 100 children come through the doors!) and the young people who come really enjoy talking to and learning from university students. We would like to invite any students who have some free time during the Easter Holidays to sign up to volunteer on this hugely beneficial project, to tutor and mentor local young people in year nine and above, whilst they revise for their upcoming exams. Last year we had an average of four different students every day and we would like to extend this number even further. If you can commit to at least one afternoon session, please contact John at j.braime@ucl.ac.uk

METHODIST RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT FUND
MRDF works with locally-based organisations in over 20 countries to encourage communities to work their way out of povery and build sustainable livelihoods, and to respond to emergency situations with humanitarian aid. We are looking for a student with skills in graphic/layout design to produce a simple, cost effective and attracting new fundraising pack. The duties involve designing a layout for an MRDF fundraising pack to be produced in house, and in setting up templates so staff can add updates in future. The work will probably only take 1 day, which could be done any weekday before the end of April. We’ll get a lovely new fundraising pack that will help us raise more money for our international development work, and you’ll get useful work experience that will be particularly useful for those thinking of going into publishing / editing / writing or graphic design. For more info, contact John at j.braime@ucl.ac.uk

If you can help out, please contact John at j.braime@ucl.ac.uk

THE INDUSTRY AND PARLIAMENT TRUST
The Industry and Parliament Trust (IPT), a small charity based in Westminster, needs 4-5 envelope stuffers for a major 30th anniversary mailing on Monday 26 March 2007. We are sending out a special bumper edition of our quarterly magazine to mark this milestone in the charity's history.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. There is also a possibility of a tour of Parliament. Volunteers are needed from 10am-5.30pm (or earlier if it's finished).
The IPT was set up 30 years ago to help parliamentarians become better legislators by sending them on work experience. We help MPs, Peers, UK MEPs and senior officials of the Parliament to learn at first hand about aspects of business and different industry sectors, including small businesses and the rural economy. On the flip side, we encourage corporate citizenship by educating business people about democracy and the parliamentary processes. We also run a scheme whereby civil servants shadow MPs and MEPs in their work in order to give both sides a better understanding of what each other does.
To get involved email John at j.braime@ucl.ac.uk

Saturday 31st March
From 1.30pm to 6pm
We have been given the opportunity to hold a charity collection at West Ham FC, Upton Park, and would love the help of some cheerful, polite and enthusiastic volunteers to help collect donations from the public. This would involve wearing London’s Air Ambulance uniforms and coming to shake one our red buckets before and after kick-off and during half-time. As a charity we are reliant upon public donations so this is a great opportunity for us if we can get some help collecting.
