WORLD AIDS DAY STREET COLLECTION CO-ORDINATOR
Interact Worldwide and our local partners work in the sexual and reproductive health sector, which means we work with young girls at risk of abuse, families with no access to contraception or family planning, pregnant women who are given no advice on safe motherhood and young people at risk of contracting HIV/AIDS. We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to take on the role of co-ordinator for our World AIDS Day street collections. Working closely with the London-based fundraising team you will have a hands on role in making this event succeed. Wed need you to commit to for at least 6 months, though the hours are flexible! BECOME A STUDENT SUPERSTAR …
UCL Union’s Innovations Programme is now recruiting for project leaders for next academic year.
If you’d like to run a volunteer project that benefits the local community – and to develop your project management and leadership skills whilst you’re at it – then this is your chance to get involved. To get involved, you’ll need to attend a training session – we’re running one on FRIDAY 8TH JUNE 9.30 AM – 4.30PM. If you can’t make this training, do get in touch, as we will also be running sessions in September.

TOYNBEE HALL TRACE PROJECT
Toynbee Hall produces practical innovative programmes for young people and families, adults, and older people, to meet the needs of local people, improve conditions and enable communities to fulfil their potential. TRACE is a new project focusing on the theme of What it means to be British & Young, today and in the past. By engaging young people to think about this theme, talk to their peers and through engagement with older people we are hoping to have something relevant to offer to the current debate.
We are now looking for a volunteer documentary film crew, who will be producing a documentary following the process of the project. The short film produced will be shown at the March 2008 showcase at the British Museum, and will be distributed widely as a means of communicating the findings of the project. The documentary will potentially have an important message to deliver whilst telling the story of Trace.
The film makers would be a key part of the project team working closely with the young people, their teachers and the Project Historian. This would be a great opportunity for film makers, who want to build their portfolio and show reel. Were looking for Director/Camera Operator, Sound Recorder, Editors, and DVD Designer.

HOMEWORK CLUB VOLUNTEER
We are looking for volunteers to help with our Homework clubs which run in several of Westminster Libraries. They are usually one day a week at each library from 3.45-5.30 p.m.
The clubs are aimed at children from 7-13 years old, though most are from Junior school. We are looking for people to help the children understand their homework, find books that may help and possibly assist with research on computers. A lot of the homework is in the two key areas, English and Maths, so a good command of English is preferable and some reasonably basic Maths knowledge.
This is a chance to work with children and assist them in a very rewarding role.
Homework clubs operate at the following sites in Westminster:
Paddington, Queen’s Park, St John’s Wood, Maida Vale, Marylebone, Church Street, Pimlico, Victoria and Mayfair.
