Action for Southern Africa (ACTSA) is looking for stewards to staff its Rally for Dignity and Democracy for Zimbabwe, taking place in Trafalgar Square on Saturday 8th March.
You will be responsible for liaising with members of the public, the press and our speakers and ensuring they can safely participate in the Rally. You will receive a full briefing prior to the event at 11am and be asked to steward through until 2.30pm
The Rally will feature a number of high profile speakers including Zimbabwean trade unionists and student leaders, UK politicians and leaders from civil society.

Fundraising student wanted for Health Unlimited…
Health Unlimited works with communities living in remote, inaccessible areas of countries affected by war or political instability. We provide basic health care, health education and train local health workers and community volunteers; and help to prevent life-threatening diseases such as Malaria, TB and HIV/AIDS. We are looking for a student to team up with another student from UCL who would like to volunteer for us as part of the Field Exposure Programme.
The team will fundraise £5,000 for marginalised communities over a period of up to 12 months. By fundraising for health unilimited you will gain valuable experience to enhance your CV. In reward, you and up to one other fundraising buddy will have the chance to shadow our field staff in Cambodia, Guatemala or Rwanda for up to 10 days- a unique opportunity to see grass-roots development in action!

Volunteers needed to help with vegetation management and other nature conservation tasks in Little Wormwood Scrubs Park. This is an excellent opportunity for volunteers to get their 'hands dirty' in real nature conservation whilst meeting volunteers from other London Universities. Groundwork West London will provide instructions and supervision of volunteers on the day.
Tools and gloves will be provided, and a qualified first aider will be present at all times. Travel expenses paid. Location: W10 (nearest tube White City)

The Baytree Centre is commencing a new project, Into-School, for recently arrived girls aged 14-18. We require an enthusiastic intern to help us run the project on a day-to-day basis.
The project aims to prepare recently arrived young women age 14-18 for entry into, and success in, mainstream education in the UK. It seeks to give them individual support in a safe and welcoming environment, in order to address their own specific needs and questions, and also to set them on a positive path so that they become constructive, active citizens, whether they remain in the UK, or take their skills back to their own countries.

Joint University Volunteering Event!
The theme of the day will be China, and volunteers will be helping the children to make a Chinese Dragon, with support from an artist.
The group of volunteers will be made up of 10 KPMG graduate trainees and 15 students. The school has been sourced through Kids Company http://kidsco.org.uk and is in real need of support. Students and KPMG trainees will volunteer with two classes of children; one in the morning and one after lunch.
There will be 8 universities taking part and UCL has 2 places, so get in touch quickly if you want to take part in the fun and rewarding day!

Medicins Du Monde are looking for an Volunteer Intern to assist in their head office and one of their clinics from the beginning of April 2008.
Volunteers will be required to book candidates onto information evenings, arrange interviews, send references and CRB checks, data entry and database management.
Complete the volunteer’s file, update the list of active volunteers, book them on training sessions.
Coordinate and organise the clinic setting before and after the sessions, purchase refreshments, book rooms and prepare and distribute leaflets. Coordinate emergency procedures and make sure the safety rules are respected at all times.

Over the Wall provides week long, residential activity camps for young people (8-17) who are affected by serious illnesses such as HIV/ Aids, cancers, paralysis and burns/ disfigurements.
By volunteering to participate in activities such as horse riding, archery, rock climbing, arts & crafts, music and drama, you could help bring laughter and hope to the life of a child that needs it most. Best of all it's COMPLETELY FREE and we even pay reasonable travel expenses, so take a chance and do something different!

POLYCYSTIC KIDNEY DISEASE CHARITY
We are the only charity in the UK dedicated to the concerns of people affected by Polycystic Kidney Disease - a range of inherited, incurable renal condictions. We aim to provide information, advice and support to those affected by the disease, fund research into determining the causes of PKD and raise awareness of the disease. We are looking for volunteers to help publicise PKD and our charity to the press!
There is an poortunity to write press releases and work on a publicity campaign. In particular, we will be planning an event on World Kidney Day, 13 March 2008. You can do the volunteer work frm UCL premises or you home, after the initial briefing from the charity chairman.

runners to cheer and encourage the participants. The role of the volunteers will be to:

-Look out and cheer for British red Cross runners
-Look after and chat to the friends and family of the the British red Cross Runners

Crowland Playgroup for pre-school aged children is looking for volunteers to commit themselves to helping one morning a week from 9.00am to 12 noon. We are situated in South Tottenham, an area with many social problems.
There are large numbers of immigrants and some children have no or limited knowledge of English. We have a lively group of children, some of whom can be difficult. In a small, safe and loving environment we aim to help them prepare for transfer to the Nursery when they are 3+ and will find themselves in a much larger group with a larger ratio of children to staff.

1. Receive details of victims/witnesses and their associates referred to the service and to make contact with an offer of support at home and or in the court building in accordance with The Witness Service and Homes for Islington policy.
2. Provide victim/witnesses and their associates with support, advice and information to assist them with the practical and emotional impact of attending court and giving evidence. This may involve:
Providing basic information on court procedures and court layout.
Informing volunteers and Witness Service staff of witnesses' arrivals.
Directing witnesses and victims to appropriate court or waiting room.
Liasing with other agencies within the court building.
Acompanying victim/witnesses to waiting rooms, or to staff and volunteers.
Assist in general administrative duties e.g. data entry, filing and photocopying.
* Referring the victims/witnesses on to their local Victim Support Scheme or other agency.
3. Provide The Witness Service Co-ordinator and Homes for Islingotn staff with a report of all work undertaken with or on behalf of all victims and witnesses. To assist the Co-ordinator in providing information for reports for statistical and monitoring purposes.
4. Attend volunteers' meetings, training events, supervision sessions and an annual appraisal in accordance with WS, IVSS and Homes for Islington policy and practice.
5. Ensure that your Co-oridnator is aware of your availability giving reasonable notice of your holidays.
6. Submit claims for travelling and other expenses in accordance with the service policy (providng receipts).
7. Elect a volunteers' representative to the Steering Committee where it is in existence.

Walk the Walk needs a strong team of volunteers to help run the MoonWalk and support 15,000 women and men as they complete a Power Walking marathon raising money and awareness for vital breast cancer causes.
Duties include registering volunteers, handing out hot food and water, giving out medals and goody bags, marshalling the route, driving support cars, cycling and generally being enthusiastic and supportive.

The group of volunteers will be made up of 10 KPMG graduate trainees and 15 students. The school has been sourced through Kids Company http://kidsco.org.uk and is in real need of support. Students and KPMG trainees will volunteer with two classes of children; one in the morning and one after lunch.

Medicins Du Monde are looking for an Volunteer Intern to assist in their head office and one of their clinics from the beginning of April 2008.
Volunteers will be required to book candidates onto information evenings, arrange interviews, send references and CRB checks, data entry and database management.
Complete the volunteer’s file, update the list of active volunteers, book them on training sessions.
Coordinate and organise the clinic setting before and after the sessions, purchase refreshments, book rooms and prepare and distribute leaflets. Coordinate emergency procedures and make sure the safety rules are respected at all times.

Over the Wall provides week long, residential activity camps for young people (8-17) who are affected by serious illnesses such as HIV/ Aids, cancers, paralysis and burns/ disfigurements.
By volunteering to participate in activities such as horse riding, archery, rock climbing, arts & crafts, music and drama, you could help bring laughter and hope to the life of a child that needs it most. Best of all it's COMPLETELY FREE and we even pay reasonable travel expenses, so take a chance and do something different!

POLYCYSTIC KIDNEY DISEASE CHARITY
We are the only charity in the UK dedicated to the concerns of people affected by Polycystic Kidney Disease - a range of inherited, incurable renal condictions. We aim to provide information, advice and support to those affected by the disease, fund research into determining the causes of PKD and raise awareness of the disease. We are looking for volunteers to help publicise PKD and our charity to the press!
There is an poortunity to write press releases and work on a publicity campaign. In particular, we will be planning an event on World Kidney Day, 13 March 2008. You can do the volunteer work frm UCL premises or you home, after the initial briefing from the charity chairman.

We have landmarks throughout the marathon that we call cheering points. The main objectives oft hese points are to provide a place for family and friends of the British red Cross
runners to cheer and encourage the participants. The role of the volunteers will be to:
-Help put up and take down various branding materials (e.g. banners and balloons)
-Look out and cheer for British red Cross runners
-Look after and chat to the friends and family of the the British red Cross Runners
-Hand out banners, whistles, etc to those at the cheering

Crowland Playgroup for pre-school aged children is looking for volunteers to commit themselves to helping one morning a week from 9.00am to 12 noon. We are situated in South Tottenham, an area with many social problems.
There are large numbers of immigrants and some children have no or limited knowledge of English. We have a lively group of children, some of whom can be difficult. In a small, safe and loving environment we aim to help them prepare for transfer to the Nursery when they are 3+ and will find themselves in a much larger group with a larger ratio of children to staff.

ISLINGTON WITNESS SERVICE
1. Receive details of victims/witnesses and their associates referred to the service and to make contact with an offer of support at home and or in the court building in accordance with The Witness Service and Homes for Islington policy.
2. Provide victim/witnesses and their associates with support, advice and information to assist them with the practical and emotional impact of attending court and giving evidence. This may involve:
Providing basic information on court procedures and court layout.
Informing volunteers and Witness Service staff of witnesses' arrivals.
Directing witnesses and victims to appropriate court or waiting room.
Liasing with other agencies within the court building.
Acompanying victim/witnesses to waiting rooms, or to staff and volunteers.
Assist in general administrative duties e.g. data entry, filing and photocopying.
* Referring the victims/witnesses on to their local Victim Support Scheme or other agency.
3. Provide The Witness Service Co-ordinator and Homes for Islingotn staff with a report of all work undertaken with or on behalf of all victims and witnesses. To assist the Co-ordinator in providing information for reports for statistical and monitoring purposes.
4. Attend volunteers' meetings, training events, supervision sessions and an annual appraisal in accordance with WS, IVSS and Homes for Islington policy and practice.
5. Ensure that your Co-oridnator is aware of your availability giving reasonable notice of your holidays.
6. Submit claims for travelling and other expenses in accordance with the service policy (providng receipts).
7. Elect a volunteers' representative to the Steering Committee where it is in existence.

We at Volunteer Centre Hackney are looking for virtual volunteers who can research the benefits of hospital volunteering for us to communicate to various stakeholders – i.e. patients, the volunteers themselves, the local authority, the PCT/NHS, hospital staff and the community as a whole. The volunteer researcher will identify kinds of volunteering roles that can be undertaken in hospitals.

WALK THE WALK
Walk the Walk needs a strong team of volunteers to help run the MoonWalk and support 15,000 women and men as they complete a Power Walking marathon raising money and awareness for vital breast cancer causes.
Duties include registering volunteers, handing out hot food and water, giving out medals and goody bags, marshalling the route, driving support cars, cycling and generally being enthusiastic and supportive.
