++SHAKESPEARE SUMMER COURSE++
UCL BLOOMSBURY THEATRE
Aimed at year 10 & 11 students (age 15yrs) who wish to study drama or
English as an academic subject at university, or are keen on becoming an

opportunities available.
Led by staff ranging from professional theatre practitioners and drama

workshops will explore the unique relationship between actor, audience and
play text and examine how this relationship shapes the language and dramatic structure of the play.
A chosen Shakespeare play for the week will offer a study of the text in its
cultural context and look at turning text into performance - 'page to
stage.'
We are looking for a volunteer who likes working with young people (pref) an English student or with interests in drama) who would like to gain
experience in this area and provide a supportive role as well as talk to the
students about UCL and university life. You will be needed for 2/3 2hr
sessions in the week - times negotiable. An interesting reward awaits!

on p.wahlqvist@ucl.ac.uk.

++VOLUNTEERS FOR 10K LONDON RUN++
APOSTLESHIP OF THE SEA
The Apostleship of the Sea (AOS) provides the pastoral outreach of the
Catholic Church to seafarers around the world - regardless of creed or
nationality.
AOS (Great Britain) employs port chaplains and ship visitors to welcome
seafarers to our shores as brothers and sisters, providing for their
practical and pastoral needs onboard ship or in seafarers' centres. 90% of
all world trade is carried by sea, and 150,000 merchant ships arrive in
British ports each year.
The maritime industry is absolutely vital to our economy and way of life,
but the conditions of the seafarers themselves are hidden from us. Seafarers have to work away from their families and communities for nine to twelve months at a time, suffering loneliness, depression, spiritual deprivation and even exploitation.
If you are looking for a fun way to get fit, why not volunteer to take part
in the London 10K run taking place on July 6th. AOS have secured some places for runners in the event - raising money for us by taking part in this event will help us to help those in need.
If this sounds interesting to you, please contact Petra on
