Project Leaders Wanted!

What would you do to make London a better place?

We’re looking for bright sparks who can run exciting community projects across London. Last year, we supported 30 student activities, including:
- Science clubs in schools
- A recycling scheme for UCL halls of residence
- A fair trade fashion project for local children
- A befriending scheme for refugees

You’ll receive training, advice & support, and access to resources, plus the chance to gain the UCL Innovations Award.

To find out more, including more examples of what UCL students have been up to, visit www.uclunion.org/innovations.

You can also email marlon.brown@ucl.ac.uk, or drop into the VSU on the second floor of the UCL Bloomsbury.

Our next training sessions are on:
Tuesday 19th May 1pm – 5pm
Tuesday 2nd June 1pm – 5pm

(You only have to attend one of these!)

UCL UNION VOLUNTEERING NEWS: May 11th – May 18th 2009

Hi there.

We hope you’ve all had a good Easter. Just to distract you from all of that revising, we’ve got another line up of volunteering opportunities, including some new summer activities.

Also – after the exams we’ll be holding our Awards ceremony. If you’d like to be invited to receive your certificate – let us know you’ve volunteered! Just drop us a line saying where you helped out, what you did, and roughly how many hours you’ve given this academic year.

You can also win £100 for your project and £50 for yourself by nominating them for the Volunteering Organisation of the Year. Find out more at
http://www.uclunion.org/volunteers/volunteering-organisation-of-the-year.php

All the best!
