Health & Mental Health Volunteering

We've just produced an information sheet about getting involved with health related projects. This is one of our most popular types of project, and we've lots of different activities to chose from.

To download the sheet, click here.

Also, don't forget that our next Volunteering Fair is on Thursday 8th October, 12 - 3 pm, in the South Cloisters in the Wilkins Building.

Does Volunteering help you get a job? The UCL graduate experience.

UCL has the largest volunteering department of any London university, and one of the largest in the country. The VSU exists to help students get involved in a range of volunteering activities, and to ensure they get the most out of the time they spend helping others.

Certainly, our surveys of UCL student volunteers show that they give themselves an edge by developing new skills and gaining valuable experience.

We tracked down four UCL graduates to ask them about how volunteering had helped them in their careers. Click here to find out what they had to say.

Afternoon Everyone!

Another week has begun and the volunteering opportunities are still flooding in. If you would like to get involved in volunteering this term, start the ball rolling now! You’ll beat the usual rush at the start of term and you can start volunteering a lot sooner.

If you’re a returning student and haven’t done so already, please let me know if you would like to re-register with the VSU by simply emailing volunteering@ucl.ac.uk, as the deadline for doing so is the 1st October.

Notable roles in this week’s newsletter can be found with SOS Children’s Villages, Amnesty International UK, Tommy’s, King’s Cross Homework Club and many, many more. Please feel free to get in touch over the week to find out more about how you can get involved this term.

Kind Regards,

UCLU Volunteering News: September 16th – September 21st

Afternoon Volunteers!

Over the past week there has been another influx of very exciting volunteering opportunities. Barnado’s have got in touch to promote their new volunteering roles, Pro-Active London want a number of Sports Event Management Co-ordinators, Hackney Community College need volunteers to help out at their homework club for young refugees and the Calthorpe Project near King’s Cross really need helpers at their 25th Anniversary garden party on Saturday 26th.

Alongside these wonderful new opportunities we have a myriad of other volunteering roles for UCL volunteers to get involved in throughout the Capital. Have a scroll through this week’s newsletter and get in touch when you find an opportunity that suits you.

UCLU Volunteering News: September 9th – September 14th

Hello Volunteers!

Having returned from a week off there’s a lot of volunteering opportunities to be advertised! Not only are we looking for our very own volunteers, but we are now getting plenty of new roles from organisations across London to advertise, in preparation for the start of term.

If you are in London already, just waiting for term to start, or indeed your term’s already started and you have some free time, have a look through this week’s newsletter. Whether your interests lie with becoming the Concert Manager of a local church, an Intern for a small museum, selling poppies or anything else volunteering-oriented, just get in touch and we’ll help you out as much as we can to get you into volunteering this term.

Regards,
