SOS CHILDRENS VILLAGES UK
MEETING THIS FRIDAY!

The world’s largest orphan charity, SOS Childrens Villages currently cares directly for 78,000 orphaned and abandoned children in 124 countries. As a charity, they work with local governments and community leaders to identify children most in need, before integrating them into a specially built ‘Children’s Village’ and a family unit.
They also run and maintain schools, medical and social centres as well as outreach projects and emergency relief programmes (such as our Haiti earthquake response). A support group was set up at Cambridge university and is doing fantastic! They are currently helping them to organise a hitchhike to one of their Children's Villages in Croatia! I hope to set up a UCL group and raise awareness throughout London. SOS would be able to give us as much of their time and resources as we would like and support us fully in whatever projects we want to undertake (be it learning about International
Development, interning and volunteering at our Head Office or fundraising and event organising).

If you would like to find out more please come to: 118 Tottenham Court Road, room SB3 on Friday 5th Feb from 2-5 pm. (See maps at http://www.ucl.ac.uk/maps/ucl-maps/map2_low_res)
