Description
Action Disability Kensingtion and Chelsea (ADKC) is a local organisation of disabled people, which provides advice, information and support. The organisation gets involved in a wide variety of activities: campaigning for disability rights, challenging discrimination and promoting equality. Identifying and enabling young disabled people to engage with the organisation and to promote access to and development of inclusive services (including leisure services and venues). Providing practical and social support through volunteers in order to enable disabled people to have access to independent lifestyles. Providing support with issues such as benefits, personal assistance, employment, training etc. Organising events to raise funds and awareness for the project.
Volunteers play a vital role throughout the organisation, supporting disabled people at the theatre, at the pub, at home on the executive committee & by organising and running events. All expenses are paid and training is provided ADKC can get volunteers started very quickly.
