Description
BESIDE is a Mental Health Community Scheme. We recruit, train and support volunteers in a friendly environment, to get involved in our community and support people with mental health needs. We offer volunteering in one-to-one and hospital visiting. BESIDE develops through the interests of our members and volunteers so if you have skills or interests that might lead a new group, please do discuss it with us. Ex-users of mental health services are very welcome and we are also keen to hear from volunteers from our diverse ethnic communities. We often need speakers of Sylheti and Somali as well as many more languages. Most groups take place at 1 Merchant Street unless otherwise stated.
