We provide early intervention & support to Children aged 5-11 yrs who are on the brink of exclusion from school. In so doing we aim to :provide increased stability & consistency in the child's life-support children to find the motivation, insight & life skills to move forward; divert a child's disruptive/challenging behaviour into projects that encourage a sense of personal achievement.

Main Activity

Weekly mentoring sessions with a child. Children are assessed by chance and matched with an adult who we believe best matches child's needs. Interests and skills are taken into account. The mentor works with the child helping to develop and broaden their interests and supporting their learning by encouraging a sense of discovery and worth

Description

Chance UK works with 5-11 year olds who are at risk of social exclusion, and developing anti-social or criminal offending behaviour later on life. Children referred to Chance are typically the most disruptive and isolated primary aged pupils, with poor school attendance and significant additional problems.
