Elthorne Community Project

To work with local residents around housing, social/community cohesion and other issues.

Main Activity

In addition to working with local residents, we also produce a community newsletter, support self-help activities, and any other initiatives that may come from the local community.

Description

Elthorne Community Project (ECP) is a local organisation, based in north Islington that works with local residents, tenants and residents associations and other groups/organisations around housing and social/community cohesion issues.

In addition to our work with local residents/residents groups, we also produce a community newsletter "Elthorne Community News", support self-help activities, and any other initiatives that may come from the local community.

We are currently looking to produce a 'self-help' information guide for local residents, which will be a 'single point' of useful information. The basic idea underpinning the guide is that in addition to being an information resource, it will also be a practical tool that will enable residents to deal with their housing and other associated problems more effectively.

We have so far managed to gather a variety of information together and we are seeking a volunteer to check and review this and help develop the project further.

We believe that this is a very interesting piece of work with an opportunity for someone to make a real difference in the area; and it will provide lots of scope for using existing skills and learning some new ones along the way.
