FACT offers a Snoezelen® Multi-sensory room, soft-play area and a unique mobile multi-sensory unit. Hourly sessions are offered to children and adults from schools, children centres, play associations, residential homes and day centres. Clients are provided with different stimulating and enjoyable experiences through the equipment and props. Multi-sensory sessions offer clients the opportunity to relax and engage with the environment and our session facilitators by exploring the interactive equipment specially adapted to meet their needs. Staff's enabling approach encourages clients to make choices and thus learn that they can gain some control over their environment. Clients' growing confidence in interacting during sessions provides a firm basis for ongoing education.

Multi-sensory Snoezelen® sessions. FACT also offers multi-sensory training to all staff escorting clients, as well as to a growing number of professionals who are interested in gaining knowledge and skills in this field.
Description
Snoezelen® (now more commonly referred to as Multi-Sensory Environment - MSE) is a specialist environment in order that people with learning difficulties could enjoy leisure pursuits on their level. Snoezelen combines a comfortable and safe environment in which the pleasurable primary senses can be stimulated, using a unique combination of music, lighting effects, soft play, tactile equipment, sound and smell devices. Volunteers needed to assist at these sessions.
