GlosAid Youth Action

GlosAid Youth Action is a local, registered charity that is run entirely by young people aged 14-26. The organisation aims to empower young people of all abilities and backgrounds to gain skills for themselves whilst helping the local community of Gloucestershire. The charity aims to support the volunteers with any project they want to set up or take part in, regardless of who the beneficiaries are.

Main Activity

Summer camp - provides a five day summer holiday for 60 disadvantaged children aged 9-12
Eights camp - similar to summer camp, though specifically targeting 8-9 year olds to increase the number of younger children benefitting from the camps.
Fun Camp - a five day summer holiday for those kids who have been away with us before and particularly benefitted from the experience (also a camp suitable for new volunteers for training)

Fundraising - every year GlosAid costs about £50,000 to run, which is entirely funded through voluntary contributions; hence why fundraising events and writing for grant applications is a crucial part of our work.
Recruitment - doing talks and making leaflets, to get other young people (like yourself) involved!
