Heath Hands

To conserve Hampstead Heath.

Main Activity

Grassland/woodland management and survey work/Garden Maintenance

Description

Heath Hands is a volunteer organisation created to help conserve the special character of Hampstead Heath and to give everyone who enjoys the Heath an opportunity to make a difference.
Heath Hands work on woodland and grassland management, conserving wildlife habitats, litter picking, maintaining ditches and looking after paths. For those who love the Heath, but who are not keen on outdoor work, we also need volunteers with public relations, teaching, computing and administrative skills. All volunteers receive training as required for the task at hand. Protective clothing and tools are provided. Volunteers need to do 18 hours per year and can choose the projects they want to work on. There are also social events for all Heath Hands volunteers.
