London Youth
London Youth is the capital's leading charity supporting young people and youth clubs. London Youth is a voice for the needs of the more than 75,000 young people in London and a champion in their youth clubs and the vital work they carry out in our communities.
Main Activity
We provide training, sports and arts events, advice, fundraising support and volunteers for our 400 affiliated youth projects all over London.
Description
Volunteers can choose to take part in any of our volunteering programmes in youth clubs in a variety of London boroughs.
Volunteers simply decide what activity they would like to get involved in and where, fill in a short application form detailing his or her particular skills, and the Volunteer Co-ordinator will do the rest. The volunteer will be matched with a position on our volunteering database, introduced to the youth worker at the appropriate project who will arrange an interview and induction programme. Voluneers can take part in any of several volunteering programmes with affiliated clubs all over London, including:
- Arts and Crafts Facilitation
- Sports Coaching and Supervision
- IT Support
- Fundraising Bid Writing Assistance
- Administration
- General youth work
If the volunteer has another skill that they would like to use for the benefit of our young people, we will endeavour to make that happen.
Volunteers get a named supervisor at the youth project who can answer any queries and deal with concerns.
