Médecins du Monde UK

Médecins du Monde UK is part of an international medical humanitarian non-governmental organisation (NGO) network that provides healthcare for the most vulnerable people around the world, including victims of poverty, famine, disease, disasters and wars. As well as providing healthcare, Médecins du Monde bears witness to obstacles to healthcare alongside other human rights abuses, giving a voice to people whose stories would not otherwise be heard.

Main Activity

Médecins du Monde UK was established to support the international network and recruit volunteers for overseas missions and relief work. In 2006, Médecins du Monde UK established an advocacy programme called Project:London. Project:London runs a walk-in health clinic using medically qualified and non-medical volunteers who provide information and support to help people reach mainstream health services. The programme aims to provide temporary healthcare and advocate on behalf of people who have problems accessing healthcare.
