About New Horizon Youth Centre:
New Horizon Youth Centre provides a range of services to young homeless people between the ages of 16 to 21.
The drop-in provides a safe environment including various facilities and activities such as a surgery, classes, life skills, sport, free meals, showers and laundry. Various satellite services on employment, education, drugs and family mediation are also available at the centre. The ARO (Advice Resettlement and Outreach) Team provides welfare benefits, housing advice, resettlement and out reach visits in the King's Cross area. At present there are opportunities within our drop-in and the ARO team during weekdays and at weekends. Volunteers get involved in all the activities listed above, as well as participate in workshops and trips..
Support and training:
Comprehensive initial training programme before placement starts. Service induction, monthly relevant training sessions and monthly support groups as well as individual supervision.
Expenses arrangements:
Travel expenses are reimbursed and free meals and drinks are available.
