Description

Throughout this century a rich diversity of cultures has been brought together in our cities. As they meet and mix, they introduce new sounds, ideas, tastes and styles, they inspire each other, learn from each other and react. At the place where they meet, interculturalism is born - new styles of art and performance which are influenced by, but not imitative of, the traditional form. It is from this meeting place that Pan Intercultural Arts performances and community and education programmes offer an experience of something fresh and distinctive - a true reflection of our multi-ethnic society. Pan Intercultural Arts believes that interculturalism through the arts can and does play a vitally important role… in deepening people's understanidng of the role of the arts, in combating the destructive forces of racism, in encouraging people to find their own voice, in reinforcing people's sense of pride in their community, in stimulating social vitality, in enhancing the quality of life.
