Peace Brigades International UK
Peace Brigades International is a charity working for the protection of human rights and the promotion of non-violence. It sends teams of international volunteers to conflict areas to provide accompaniment to threatened human rights defenders (internally displaced people, lawyers, women's organisation, community workers) whose lives are under threat as a result of their work for social justice. We currently have four field programmes in Colombia, Mexico, Indonesia and Guatemala.
Main Activity
From the London office we provide support to field programmes in the form of (raising awareness on the human rights situation of the countries where we operate, raising funds for field projects and building networks of international support to ensure the effectiveness of our presence in the field.
Description
Peace Brigades International, an organisation working for the protection of human rights, is looking for volunteers for our field programmes (Mexico, Guatemala, Indonesia and Colombia) and for the London office. Volunteers intereted in doing fieldwork need to speak the language of the country, and have some previous NGO experience and be over 25 years old. For the London office we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with an interest in the areas of fundraising, outreach, publicity and advocacy. Please get in touch with us for an application form.
