Description

Our Geography Ambassador Scheme has been set up as part of the Action Plan for Geography, a two-year DfES funded project to promote geography in schools. The ambassadors are recruited from universities in London, the South East and the North East and will visit scholls in their local area to give a presentation entitled: "Why Geography?" There is a commitment of attending a two hour training session, followed by one visit to a school. However over time we hope that ambassadors will become regular visitors to the schools and become involved in geography clubs, special projects and events.
The ambassador scheme aims to strengthen links between schools and universities in their area, as well as providing undergraduates with the opportunity to contribute to their local community, gain confidence and enhance their CVs.
