Description

Sierra Leone Family Welfare Association aims to raise awareness of the needs of the West African communities, particularly refugee/asylum seekers in the UK. We are looking for volunteers to help provide basic literacy and numeracy skills to unaccompanied refugees/asylum seekers (mostly minors) in the Chestnut Community Centre (closest tube is seven sisters). We need volunteers with good communication skills for 4hours/week to assist in these tutoring sessions. We pay travel expenses and training (for example, volunteers would gain knowledge about the immigration and Asylum Act 1999)

Sectors: refugees, children
